I am seriously addicted to this sandwich. Sometimes I even dream about it, it’s that good. I actually like the vegan version far better than when I used to eat meat. Typically a Cuban sandwich is made with slow cooked pork. The substitute for that is a slow cooked jackfruit, and no joke, my meat-eating friends can’t tell the difference.

The Italian Sausage sandwich is actually very easy to replicate. If you understand the flavor components of Italian sausage, then you can make almost anything taste like Italian sausage. In this case, I used tempeh because it also replicates the texture of sausage too.

Traditionally chicken salad is a great summer sandwich and is typically made from leftovers. In this case, the chicken is replaced with slow cooked jackfruit. Once you have the chicken replacement, you tailor your chicken salad to however your grandma used to make. In my version, I experimented with tailoring it with Gojuchang and Korean flavors.
