Homemade Veggie Burger

 

Of course you can buy veggie burger pretty much everywhere. But when you make your own, they turn out to be more hardy and filling and more affordable! This is a simple veggie burger recipe, but by all means, make it your own!

Ingredients

Veggie Patty:
1 can of black beans
10-12 oz baby bella mushrooms
½ cup brown rice
½ cup quinoa
¼ cup flour
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp cumin

Burger:
Buns or bread
Mustard (optional)
Vegan Mayo (optional)
Ketchup (optional)
Red Onion
Pickles
Lettuce
Tomato
Avocado (optional)

Steps:
1. Boil 1 cup of water, and add the rice and quinoa, and turn down the heat to medium. Allow the rice and quinoa to cook until the water has disappeared, about 10 minutes.
2. Add all of the Veggie Patty ingredients to a blender. Once the rice and quinoa are ready, add them to the blender. Blend thoroughly.
3. Once the patty mixture is blended, scoop some out and form a patty. Add the patty to a pan over medium heat and saute for 5 minutes until the edges get crispy. Then flip and cook on the other side for another 5 minutes.
4. Once the patties are ready, build the veggie burger in this order: 1) Buns, 2) Mustard & Ketchup, 3) Pickles, 4) Diced red onion, 5) Lettuce & Tomato, 6) Veggie Patty, 7) Top with avocado or vegan cheese.
