Steps:

1. Cut the tempeh into long strips and then tear them into cubes.

2. Add the olive oil, soy sauce, and sriracha to a mixing bowl. Throw the tempeh into the mixing bowl. With your hand stir it around until the oil has thoroughly coated the tempeh.

3. Add the cornstarch, cornmeal, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper to the tempeh mixture. Then stir it again with your hand to coat evenly.

4. Cook the tempeh in an air fryer on 370 degrees for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, shake the basket, and cook on 370 for another 8 minutes. (If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then turn them over, and bake for another 15 minutes).

5. While the tempeh is cooking, cook the rice.

6. In a large pot, either boil or steam the broccoli.

7. Mix the corn starch with warm water, then add all the remaining General Tso sauce ingredients, stir thoroughly.

8. In a pan over medium heat, pour in the sauce and cook for 4-5 minutes. Keep stirring as it thickens.

9. Mix the fried tempeh and broccoli into the sauce and coat completely.

9. Create plates in the following order: 1) rice, 2) tempeh/broccoli mixture, 3) add extra sauce, 4) top with chopped green onions.
