Vegan Andouille Sausage Sandwich


So we noticed a variety of Tofurky vegan sausages and we thought we’d give them a try. The first one we thought we’d try is the Andouille sausage.  On it’s own it had an interesting taste, so I thought I’d pair it with some Italian flavors for a quick and easy sandwich. This is perfect for a quick lunch, dinner, or snack. Try it out and let me know what you think.  I want to try the vegan Italian sausage next on the same sandwich... I’ll update the recipe to let everyone know how it is. 

I started with splitting the sausages and throwing them in the pan with a little oil on medium heat.  Then toast the bread, and build he sandwich while it’s on the heat.

Ingredients

1 Tofurky Andouille sausage
Drizzle of olive oil
2 slices of bread of your choice 
Drizzle of butter
1/4 cup of tomato sauce
Handful of vegan Parmesan

Steps
1. Split the sausage in half put it in the pan on medium heat and with a drizzle of olive oil.
2. Cook the sausage until it’s browned.  Then take out the sausage and set aside.
3. Add butter to the pan and to the bread, then place the bread in the pan.
4. Once the first side of the bread has toasted, add butter and flip.
5. Add the sausage to the bottom piece of bread, then add the tomato sauce, then add the Parmesan.
6. After the top piece of bread has toasted enough, add to the top of the sandwich, then press into the sandwich.
